What is Social Prescribing?
A GP can help you when you are poorly, but they may not be able to help when it comes to other problems that can affect your health and wellbeing. If you are feeling a bit low, worried about housing or debt or even want to be more active. Social Prescribing can help with a range of issues to make you feel better!
Social prescribing is a service, for adults over the age of eighteen, that works with you to improve your health and wellbeing. Your local Community Linkworkers are here to provide non-clinical support by linking you to community and voluntary services across the borough that best suits your needs.

How can I be referred to social prescribing?
To be referred, contact your GP practice by simply asking at reception for a Social Prescribing referral, your GP or any other health care professional can also make the referral for you.
Your Community Linkworker will then contact you within two weeks of the referral.

Rebeka Chowdhury and Rokeya Noor are your local social prescribing Community Linkworkers. They work with the practices in Bethnal Green, Spitalfields and Bangla Town.
